A democracy is nothing more than mob rule, where fifty-one percent of the people may take away the rights of the other forty-nine. Thomas Jefferson
Frederick Douglass, one of the most prominent black Americans in history, and for some time, a slave, weighed in on the issue with profound insight:
"Power concedes nothing without a demand. It never did, and it never will. Find out just what people will submit to, and you have found out the exact amount of injustice and wrong which will be imposed upon them; and these will continue till they have resisted with either words or blows, or with both. The limits of tyrants are prescribed by the endurance of those whom they suppress."
Our country is not a democracy. It is a democratic Republic of laws. Educate yourself and your children what this means. Our founding fathers knew this. Those that call our country a democracy are ignoring our constitution.

If you are so unhappy and hate what the USA is or what you think it has become THEN MOVE!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment. Your post says it all.
ReplyDeleteKeep up the good work some day we will prevail.
ReplyDeleteYou should be crediting Glenn Beck for your statements. He is the one, after all, that you are repeating almost verbatim. Doesn't everyone already know this is a democratic republic? That is what I learned when I went to school and it is what they still teach. I checked the textbooks being used in SWCS after I listened to Beck when he was talking about this, and they all correctly teach that the USA is a democratic republic.
ReplyDeleteAnd your point is? Thank you for confirming my information. What does the district practice? Democracy mob rule? The courts have ruled the funding unconstitutional. The voters have turned the levy down 3 previous times. Democracy representative of the people or tyranny? What is your view? Thanks for commenting
ReplyDeleteSo what exactly are districts supposed to do while the state government comes up with a different form of funding? Are schools supposed to go completely bankrupt while they wait? I don't really think the district should have put the levy up every single time, maybe once a year would be a good rule of thumb, but they weren't breaking any laws by putting it up every time. That may be a good law to get our representatives to put into law. The levy did eventually pass, however, so it can't really be called tyranny.
ReplyDeleteThe fact they use "No" Voting tax payers money that won the election 3 previous times to put it back on a 4th time is not Tyranny? Who does the Board work for and answer to? What did the voters tell them at the polls 3 times prior? Do you understand why people are feeling not represented? The Board will slowly be replaced and I think eventually Bill Wise will be replaced. Bill Wise and the board will do what they think is best for Grove City. The rest of the district be damned which is evident in the numerous tax abatements in Grove City versus the rest of the district. Thanks for commenting.
